Gone Rural
Gone Rural was founded by Jenny Thorne in 1992 with the mission of creating economic empowerment for rural women in Eswatini through basket weaving. Offering home based work to over 700 rural artisans in often remote communities, Gone Rural provide market access, product design, materials and training to the women in order to earn an income for their beautiful traditional handcraft. The brand has gone on to become globally recognized for producing high quality table ware, contemporary home products, lighting and woven wall art.
Gone Rural - situated in Malkerns - has all sorts of products that you can take home with you; mats, table runners, floor mats, baskets, candles and clay products, decorations, gifts and other home ware products. |

Founded by Els Hooft in 1991, Baobab Batik has created a nurturing work environment where the women of Baobab can learn and develop their skills.
While being part of a transparent and encouraging TEAM - Together Everyone Achieves More, which is the key to our success.
The batik process is devided into, waxing, dying and sewing. The waxing process requires tracing the pattern and filling in with wax, before sending it to the colour house. In the colour house the ladies carefully dye the fabrics accroding to the required design.

Tintsaba Crafts
Tintsaba was founded by Sheila Freemantle in 1985. Her vision was to work with the women of rural eSwatini in order for them to grow in personal and financial independence. Starting with only 12 local women, Sheila's guidance, dedication and innovation has resulted in Tintsaba becoming renowned worldwide for its refined sisal basketry technique and quality jewelry making. Consequently Tintsaba has been granted numerous awards and is now recognised as an industry leader.
Get all sorts of products from Tintsaba craft ranging from functional household and jewellery items to collectors' pieces of the finest basketry in Africa. Recently there has been a new development of geometric designs, a new range of silver earrings, necklaces, rings and bangles. |

Rosecraft

Rosecraft
is a handweaving cottage industry which produces a variety of products from mohair, wool, cotton and silk, including carpets and rugs, cushion covers, shawls and jerseys using traditional methods. Set on a farm in the Egebeni Mountains near Manzini, the Rosecraft workshop is owned and managed by Rose Roques, who started it in 1979.
Today, Rosecraft provides much needed employment for over 120 Swazi women from the surrounding local community who use the time-honoured looms and spinning wheels create the Rosecraft range of products. The workshop is open to visitors who are encouraged to view the manufacture process. The products are also on sale at the workshop, as are refreshments.
